Winnie needs your help!
Winnie & Tia
Just about everyone receiving this message knows that I am an animal lover to the extreme – as does everyone in my neighborhood. So when a puppy was beaten and shoved down a storm drain, the kids who saw it happen came to get me. So after wasting time and money trying to get help for “Winnie”, Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue, a local rescue group, stepped up and got her into Hollywood Animal Hospital by guaranteeing the vet bill would get paid.
Winnie’s leg wasn’t just broken…it was crushed. It’s in a cast right now (see photo) but she’s scheduled to have it amputated on Monday. This rescue group is run entirely by volunteers and they are not funded by any state or federal agency. They pay for vet services just like everyone else, and every cent they take in is donations from people like us. So that they can continue to help other animals in distress, I’m committed to getting Winnie’s bill paid. We get this taken care of and they can keep doing their good work.
Fortunately, there are several ways you can help.
First, the obvious…money. I’m asking people to donate $2, $5 or $10 to help out. Really, any amount would be appreciated! It adds up quickly. Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue is the recipient. They are a not-for-profit 501(c)3, no kill rescue group and all donations are tax deductible on your federal taxes this year. They have a Paypal account on their website where you can pay by credit card or you can mail a check directly to the group.
