Emerge Weekly Update # 2

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Bike Month a huge success. Now that March has come to an end, it’s time to celebrate the very first O, Miami, a county-wide celebration of poetry. They’ll be hosting events all month throughout Miami with the goal of exposing all of Miami’s 2.5 million residents to a poem. In conjunction with O, Miami, our friends at Beached Miami are asking you, fair citizen-poets, for your contributions. Be a part of the O, Miami Epic by writing a line in a crowdsourced Epic poem.

Here’s the weekly update of what Emerge Miami is organizing and promoting:

Sat. April 2nd – River Day: Join Green Mobility Network and the City of Miami for a family-friendly celebration at the Miami River. They’ll be hosting bike safety workshops for kids. Lummus Park, 11AM – 3PM.

Sat. April 9th – Emerge Critical Mass: It’s time for our monthly Saturday morning Critical Mass ride! We’ll meet at Government Center Metro-Rail Station at 10 AM. More details at our Meetup Page.

Sun. April 10th – Vegan Waffles + Film Screening: Our friends at Sweat Records will be hosting a screening of the film, Bold Native and serving up its legendary Vegan Waffles. The most amazing vegan brunch you’ve ever had starts at noon, film screening at 3 PM.

That’s the dispatch for now. As always, if you’re interested in getting more involved in organizing, please join us on Tuesday nights from 7 PM – 8 PM at Sweat Records for our meeting. We love new people!
