David Henderson will teach Traffic Skills for Bicyclists on Sunday, Aug. 15, at Tropical Park Community Center, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami. You’ll ride safer and with more confidence if you complete the course, covering not only riding skills but traffic law, bike equipment, fixing a flat tire, and accident prevention. The eight-hour course costs $35, including a student manual.

Henderson is president of the Florida Bicycle Association and the bike-pedestrian coordinator for the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Emerge Miami is hosting a special night time bike ride to the August Art Walk in Wynwood. Forget the car this time–the Green Mobility Network will sponsor a FREE Bike Valet for secure bicycle parking. Riders can freely tour the galleries and those who wish to ride back to Government Center in a group will meet at a designated spot to be announced at the ride.
Donations for Bike Valet will be welcome.
